Zebra Code Scanner

Viral Apps Studio ("we", "our", or "us") built the Zebra Code Scanner app ("the App") as a free application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use our App.

Information We Do Not Collect

Zebra Code Scanner does not require account creation, login, or any form of registration. We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

• Personal information (name, email, phone number)
• Location data
• Contacts or address book data
• Content of scanned QR codes or barcodes
• Content of generated QR codes or barcodes

Data Stored on Your Device

The App stores the following data locally on your device only:

• Scan history: Records of codes you have scanned, including decoded content and date
• Generation history: Records of codes you have generated, including content and images
• App preferences: Your settings such as sound and vibration preferences

This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us. You can delete this data at any time through the app's Settings by using the "Clear History" option.

Camera and Photo Library Access

The App requests access to:

• Camera: Used solely to scan QR codes and barcodes in real time. No images or video are recorded, stored, or transmitted.
• Photo Library (read): Used to import images containing QR codes or barcodes for scanning. We do not access any other photos.
• Photo Library (write): Used to save generated QR code and barcode images when you choose to do so.

These permissions are requested only when needed and can be revoked at any time in your device's Settings.

Analytics and Crash Reporting

We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, provided by Google, to help us understand how the App is used and to improve stability. These services may collect:

• Anonymous usage data (e.g., which screens are viewed, feature usage frequency)
• Crash logs and performance data
• Device information (model, OS version, language)
• Anonymous app instance identifiers

This data is anonymous and cannot be used to identify you personally. For more information, see Firebase Privacy Policy.

Network Requests

The App makes network requests only for:

• Product information lookup: When you scan a barcode, the App may query the Open Food Facts API and UPC Item DB API to retrieve product information. Only the barcode number is sent; no personal data is included.
• Firebase services: Anonymous analytics and crash reporting as described above.
• Remote configuration: The App uses Firebase Remote Config to check for required app updates.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

• Firebase (Google) — Analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration
• Open Food Facts — Food product information
• UPC Item DB — Product information

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The App does not require any personal information to function.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
